Enhance your cocktails with The Scents
Our journey with The Scents began in high-end bars, where the art of crafting cocktails involves not just taste, but also the nuances of aroma—think bitters, the fresh pop of hand-clapped mint, or the refreshing zest of an orange peel around the glass rim. These techniques don't just add to the flavour; they reshaped the entire cocktail experience, activating the senses and reimagining even the most classic drinks. Inspired by this transformative power of scent, we began exploring how aroma could enhance the taste experience with our own spirits.
Highly concentrated distillates and extracts
With the launch of our Sentinel Rum, we curated six distinctive cocktail scents designed to complement and amplify its flavour profile. These highly concentrated distillates and extracts allow you to tailor your drink to your preference. Craving a brighter, fruitier note? Add a touch of apricot. Looking for something richer and more herbaceous? Try a spritz of dark spice.
This opened a new world of sensory possibilities, leading us to expand our initial six scents to a set of twelve. Now, this aromatic range accommodates not only the richness of rum and darker spirits but also the lighter, nuanced profiles of gin, providing a dynamic toolkit to elevate any cocktail experience.
Perfect harmony of scent and versatility
The Scents are easy to use: simply spray 1-2 pumps into, over, or onto your cocktail glass to enjoy the highly aromatic spray as you drink. This activates the orthonasal sense of smell, which plays a crucial role in taste perception. This sense refers to the ability to smell flavours that enter the nasal cavity through the mouth while you drink. In this way, you experience a completely new dimension of taste and flavours.
